We mourn together, we protest together

Remembering George Floyd, murdered two years ago this week

We mourn together, we protest together

We send love and solidarity to the family and friends of George Floyd, on the second anniversary of his a racist murder by police in Minneapolis At the time of his death, the Boston Workers Circle and Centre for Jewish Culture and Social Justice made this statement, which the Jewish Socialists’ Group endorses:

We are full of grief and outrage over the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade and all black lives lost to police brutality and white supremacy. As a multiracial Jewish community committed to racial justice and a better world for all, we mourn together, we protest together, and we recommit ourselves to work together for racial justice within ourselves, our communities, and our country.”

Racism against all targets is always wrong, in all circumstances.

Two years after George Floyd’s murder we remember him and the movement for change that followed his death. We pledge our solidarity with all victims of state racism and institutional racism on both sides of the Atlantic who have lost their lives in police custody, such as those highlighted by the United Friends and Families campaign in Britain.

Black lives matter!
